So, how was being in a big top? Suprisingly alright. We were reasonably well spaced from other audience members, and for the most part the social distancing worked well enough. The tent really isn't quite an inside venue, it is very open to the outside and well ventilated.
The show itself is what I should really be talking about. Each year there are different acts, this year's were very good. We remember the quick change artists and were left wondering how it's done. We were impressed with the whips and the whip cracking. What trust they have to have to let someone knock something out of their mouth with a whip. The fun on the trampoline was also very enjoyable.
Then there are the regulars, but even they make changes to their acts year on year.
The show was about 2 hours from start to finish and well worth the entrance fee. On the night we went there were plenty of empty seats, I think we were sat in a better position than we had been in previous years, and were definitely not crammed together. It was an enjoyable 2 hours and a welcome distraction from the current restrictions.
Incase you're wondering the clowns are NOT at all scary.
I hope they survive and can come back next year.
