The Parish Project - Session 3

The most work of all in this one, for the participants, and the least during the course for me. Much less of me, more set a task, and let them do it. Less group sharing, more in pairs. So ... not so sure about how it went! It seemed t be OK. I have stated that I will collect feedback next time. Will have to invent a questionnaire. Will probably photocopy the result and give back the original - not sure yet.
It was a foul night - very cold for March, and driving sleet at one point also. I had all the heating and lights on. So I was pleased that 4 people turned out, I had wondered if they'd look at the weather and decide the telly was really important, and who could blame them!

The Parish Project - Session 2

Session 2 was always planned to be much harder work. That is exactly how it turned out. There were some good discussions, but much of the material was necessarily skipped over. I knew I had too much for 90 minutes, but the contract we have with those who are willing to turn out after a hard days commute must be upheld. This is especially true as one of the items discussed was integrity and hypocrisy.
Considering all these things I still think it went quite well. Perhaps not quite as well as the first session, but then it had a different flavour.
Once again I need to keep most of my observations and thoughts for the write up, so not too much more to be said. Only this: Is what we're trying to teach in these sections really what the guys need?

The Parish Project - Session 1

The project is The Christ Church Lent Course, and is 4 Tuesdays in March. Its something I have to do, and the write up for my reader training.
The first session took place tonight, it was very much an introduction. I had some concerns about people coming, but I shouldn't have. Five people turned up, I had material for six.
The session lasted just over the hour, which was good, I was expecting it to be shorter. The second session is MUCH longer, so now I have an idea of how long things take ...

Basically my prayers were answered, and those of one or two others as well.

Can't say too much - I need to keep it for the report.
