Emerging Cell

At the leadership day Pathfinder cell was described as "an emerging Cell group" - I like that title. That’s exactly what we're trying to create, and continue to create. There should always be emerging cells.

We're using the Search Engine material that I got from CPAS, and worked well with Pathfinders a few years ago. Better still its easy to prepare, has lots of different options, and is all provided on the PC, so I can change it if I need to.

Last nights was, once again, a difficult experience. The subject was creation - what did they really think. There were some, who I expected to take a different attitude, who thought that evolution was probably the way. We then had the inevitable jokes about monkeys, and who was and who wasn't. That’s what happens when you try to put millions of years of evolution into just one or two generations. The process goes into reverse?

We had 7 members last night, including the three noisy ones, once again all girls - where are the boys?

I’m always completely drained after this and just spend my time ‘vegging’ in front of the TV. Last night, I found “Bill Bailey: Part Troll”, and got just the laugh I needed – and went to bed very late.

CCS has restarted / Shaken Up has restarted

Thursday:
First CCS of the spring term, and it’s so good to know that I’m not the only one who hasn’t done the work.

Friday:
Shaken Up: 13 Children, only one boy – a bit worrying – as I know the youth worker was in charge of the distribution of the flyers, but it may not be that of course. I arrived late because I was on ‘escalated support’ at work (1pm to 6pm). There were more than enough games, we did not even use one of them – that’s very good. The ‘God slot’ at the end went well and stimulated some discussion. Now we start planning for Cell. Needless to say I haven’t seen any of the fliers. – Just like Carrie. He has also taken charge of the money, although I’ve got the registration information for who was there. So the handover is in progress.

I plugged the Cell group quite hard, so hopefully they will turn up on Friday. Going to try a re-run of “Search Engine”.

Pray for Cell - the members, the potential members, and leaders.

Saturday:
Church leadership day. Only about 20 people turned up. We were given the data from the May awayday to look at – I certainly couldn’t remember what we had said then , and I don’t suppose anyone else could. So we didn’t get a lot done.

Cell

Not somewhere you're locked in but a close knit group, hopefully, from which you can divide and multiply. Now apply that to the 11-14's -- maybe it doesn't work so well. Tonight was about forgiveness - and there were some serious issues to be discussed. They were lost and 'blasted' by the overall volume. Lets hope we can find it within ourselves to forgive them.
