Not that much has happened in the last couple of days. On Saturday, we were visited by friends of Karen and Robert as a celebration of their coming birthdays. We have met them before, and it was good to see them again. The visit was quite short as they have a long drive each way, and children who need to sleep.
On Monday, we saw one of them again as she popped in and joined us for Karen's birthday meal. During the day, Karen also go the front brakes replaced on her car, and visited the local Starbucks for a 'birthday' coffee.
On Tuesday, we drove in the now quiet car to Atlanta to see the other family and watched the children play together. The four of them play so well, with hardly any disputes, and those that do occur are soon forgotten. When the rain stopped, we were able to watch them play in the garden, on a trampoline. Then the two-hour drive home, uneventful, thankfully - just a couple of rainy patches to get through.
Today I return on the overnight flight. As usual, I'm not looking forward to the travel, but I bring back some great memories of Robbie and the Lego building, and Madelyn and the silly games she loves to play. I have been well looked after, and have begun, just a little, to understand the way of life here.
