On Wednesday I got out of bed at 3:45am, shower, breakfast, dress, and go as usual, but this time in the car to Stansted. A very quiet journey almost nothing on the road. Parking in mid-stay, and catching the shuttle bus was easy enough, but the terminal was like Piccadilly Circus at New Year! Still I arrived in plenty of time, and all 8 security gates were operating. Then met my colleague and got on the plane. EasyJet. Due to depart at 7:00 am, actual departure a little after 8:10 am.
So we arrived late in Amsterdam. The public transport is brilliant, and ran spot ontime for all the journeys.
The Amsterdam office is not quite a nice as the Chelmsford office, but its OK, and there are more people in the parent company. It was a good day and I learnt a lot. Its like that in a new job, in an industry which is itself pretty young. It's especially like that in a country I've never been to before.
Amsterdam is very relaxed, and a pleasant place to wander about, and have a beer (lager - no real beer). There is also some amazing architecture, and there must be quite a history.
The flight back was uneventful, if also a little late.
I was VERY tired yesterday.
