Soap Box Derby

We are looking after one of our Grandson's for the weekend.  He wanted to go to the Soap Box Derby because his school had a go cart in the competition. I have never been before.  It is held on Sun Corner, properly the Elizabeth II field. It was a lovely day, perhaps the first properly lovely day we have had this year.  So it was packed.  We saw only the second runs, the first occurred in the morning, while we were at church.

The inventiveness of the entrants knows no ends.

This was by far the most inventive go-cart.  It is made of cardboard and survived at least the first ramp without anything significant falling off.

This is the school's entry.  It did well and went faster the second time, but did not beat the other school in the competition.
This was one of the faster carts.  We did not see the eventual winner because we were in the field buying food by then.
An excellent day's entertainment.  Well done to the Billericay Rotary Club and all who organised and helped out.
