I get by with a little help ...

It's was a day of help and obstruction.   It started with me making payments to American web sites late the previous night.  With some payments unable to go through because some American organisations can only take payments from American organisations, my cards were in a fine mess.  I emailed said organisation, and it was politely confirmed that they were unable to accept payments from abroad.  Two credit cards were  affected Nationwide and Capital One.  Captial One called before I got to work.  The message I received had two numbers - neither of them connected me to anything. Unhelpful.  I phoned the number on the card and the guy I spoke to went through all the transactions with me and gave me the sterling values, he also promised help recovering the funds for the refused transaction should that be required - Helpful.  The Nationwide phoned later to say that due to suspicious activity my card had been suspended and would be replaced.  They could not tell me what the suspicious activity was, nor confirm my guess as they don't have the information! -  Unhelpful.
Later I visited the Nationwide to find out why I was being charged over £35 when we went overdrawn during the wedding planning. We were overdrawn for about three days and less than £180. She explained the charges, and said "its the terms and conditions" - unhelpful. After some further discussion she refunded one of the charges. It still cost me over £20. - unhelpful.
Later still I missed the bus, I put my arm out too late, I had been concentrating on sending a text message to say I was on my way home.  There was another. Bus behind, but it was a different service. I said, rather jokingly, "You couldn't catch and pass the 100 could you?"  He tried, and I made it onto the right bus. Ithink it brightened his day, he seemed to enjoy the challenge. - helpful.
