We were lucky enough to receive 2 complimentary tickets to go to CRE. I was, once again, looking for information on the projection system, so that we can replace our projector with something that will give us the ability to see what is on the screen. As before I visited a number of stands. Sometimes you get the impression that people are just trying to sell things, other times there is more interest in the customer and his needs, although it is always slanted to the products the salesman has to offer, of course.
We found two stands that were useful and will book appointments with them.
We also passed various stands and got into conversations about things. One of those was the Time to Sow stand. They make puppets, and had an orangutan that was just brilliant. The guy on the stand was a clear enthusiast and showed us some of his routines.
Another was the Church House Publishing Stand. I just dropped in to ask about a service book, and got invited to the seminar on Visual Liturgy Live. It was an interesting event, with just the three of us, so we got a demo based on questions and answers. I have a disk that will let me try the product.
We also got hijacked by Sarah Rundle, a storyteller. She was very good, and it made for a nice sit down (on cushions, on the floor), as it had been a busy day. I won't re-tell the story, but she clearly had a good selection.
It was a good, but tiring day, and we have come back with more than we ever expected.
