My youngest, and my only remaining teenage child showed his brother the way last night. The boys work in the same place, so have quite a big circle of friends in common. Mike works days Monday to Friday, and some Friday evenings and Saturday Evenings, so he has to be home at a reasonable time to get to sleep for the 8am start the next day.
One of Andy's closest friends, who is also one of Mike friends had a nasty car accident last night. Mike had borrowed our car, he came back to the house, and told me what was happening, and that he was going back to the scene to see if there was anything he could do. Later he went to the hospital. When he came home we had a long conversation, in which Mike explained what had happened, attributed everybody's actions to their 'best intent', and them 'trying to help'. He made it clear that there was as yet no blame to be laid, because nobody knew what had really happened. He was very calm, and considered. I could tell he was quite upset, but most people wouldn't have known. He even expressed his concern for Andy's girl friend, and said he would talk to her later to see how she was.
Well done Mike.
Well Done Mike!!
