A visit to St Hugh's

Yesterday we collected Jo's Mum and drove to Luton to see Karen. It was a very nice day, and we followed the rain as we traveled without once getting wet. We arrived early and spoke to one or two people, then attended the 11am service. Some of the youth group helped lead, and Solomon (from Nairobi theological college) preached, and updated the congregation on his family. Then Karen was welcomed. When people were invited to come to the front and pray it seemed like half the church got up. She was welcomed with a number of symbolic gifts (e.g. a candle - because she's organizing the lights party) - little things to demonstrate what she will be doing. She did very well in her 'off the cuff' moments - and didn't ramble!
Following the service we went to lunch at the beefeater, before sweet it was time for Liz to go. After lunch we went to Karen's for a while and then came home.

Great day - also our 23rd anniversary!
