The 'ball' started at 7.30. Everyone was ready and we arrived on-time. Slight worry that we should have brought some more drink, but that was not a problem there was plenty there. Nice to see everyone. Julie was back from Cambridge, Mandy back from Preston, and of course my 2, and Christine here for the night. There were also a number of Monkton leaders who I didn't know. The meal was very nice, not quite what I expected, but good enough. The live music was good, but there were only two players, thought there was going to be a band. Some good CDs had been produced and the dancing was entertaining – strictly from a spectators point of view. Games were fun – table tennis, snooker, which kept the younger ones entertained. I played Mike twice, and won both times, but shouldn't have, cause if he'd not been so tired he would have beaten me easily. Tiffany was a bit upset later, but I hope she enjoyed her first time past midnight.
