Cardiff - Weekend Return

Friday, Jo and I travelled to Cardiff to pick up Karen and return on the Saturday. She was invited somewhere for the day, so we left later that we had planned. Whether it was this or just a bad day on the roads, we spent six hours travelling. It is really becoming impossible to drive anywhere in this country in a reliable timescale. The journey time to Cardiff should be 3 hours, or a little over! Friday evening was spent at the Sandringham in St Marys Street. A rather tired looking hotel, but otherwise quite fit for purpose. We ate at the Hard Rock Café after wandering around the City being indecisive - something we do a lot, (well, quite a bit). On the way back Jo was telling me she recognised the street from all the police shows, and indeed there was already someone collapsed in the road, apparently drunk. This was between nine and ten in the evening. Breakfast was good, with Karen's things loaded in the car, home we came. It was a very straight forward journey. A very tiring two days.
